Modern Lasers for Self Defense Handguns and Home Defense Firearms

Crimson Trace has been building and selling lasers for about 15 years. The commercial venture kicked off in the summer of 1994 which mated an early laser with a Glock. Both were unappreciated at that point in time. Since then Crimson Trace grew by orders of magnitude.

Crimson Trace produces high quality lasers, which are offered as upgrade part to individuals, OEM packages of factory shipped "gun and laser combo" and on military or law enforcement issued weapons.

Most people serious about self defense know about Crimson Trace and their laser grips for handguns. But Crimson Trace keeps innovating and now offers a dedicated vertical fore-grip light and laser combo for rifles too.

In this article we'll look at Crimson Trace as a company, and some of the products that they offer. If you want to see why a laser is important, I suggest you read this article for context. I'll also add pictures of different Crimson Trace lasers. Take a look at the top of page to see how they look on different handguns, and you'll spot the Crimson Trace laser.

Crimson Trace is based on the West Coast of the US, in Wilsonville, OR. After being in business for 15 years, they have a strong reputation for innovation and reliability. When they first entered the market place, many experts predicted their demise. They stated, often and loudly, that lasers are toys that are unfit for duty or self defense.

The magnitude of their error can be measured by the number of units shipped and the end users of Crimson Trace products. In the last 15 years, Crimson Trace sold about 250,000 thousand Lasergrips. That number is significant, since most of these sales must have happened in the past 10 years, which means that this number is going to keep growing in a solid way.
